What's included:

• Initial Consultation: A detailed conversation to understand the author's story concept, genre, themes, and narrative goals. Assessment of the author's current plot, pacing, and outline, if any, to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
• Plot Analysis: Examination of the story's plot structure, including the introduction of conflict, rising action, climax, and resolution. Evaluation of plot twists, turns, and subplots to ensure they enhance the main storyline and contribute to character development.
• Pacing Evaluation: Analysis of the story's pacing to ensure it maintains reader engagement and propels the narrative forward. Identification of pacing issues, such as pacing that feels too slow or rushed, and suggestions for adjustments to create a more dynamic reading experience.
• Outlining Assistance: Guidance on creating or refining a detailed outline that maps out key plot points, character arcs, and major events in the story. Assistance with organizing scenes, chapters, and story beats to ensure a cohesive and well-structured narrative flow.
• Character Development: Discussion of how character arcs and motivations intersect with the plot, and suggestions for deepening character development to drive the story forward. Exploration of character-driven plot elements, conflicts, and relationships that can enhance the storytelling.
• Tension and Conflict: Strategies for maximizing tension and conflict throughout the story to keep readers engaged and invested in the outcome. Techniques for building suspense, escalating stakes, and creating compelling obstacles for the protagonist to overcome.
• Pacing Techniques: Recommendations for pacing techniques, such as chapter endings, cliffhangers, and narrative pacing devices, to maintain reader interest and momentum.
• Revision and Refinement: Suggestions for revising and refining the plot, pacing, and outline based on feedback and insights gained during the consultation. Guidance on iterative outlining and plotting techniques to help the author refine their story structure over time.
• Follow-Up Support: Availability for follow-up consultations, feedback sessions, and ongoing support as the author implements changes and continues to develop their manuscript.
• Deliverables: A summary report outlining key insights, recommendations, and action steps discussed during the consultation. Any additional materials or resources created during the consultation process, such as revised outlines, plot diagrams, or pacing charts.

The base package is a two hour package that includes a 15-30 minute consultation with the remainder of the time filled with plotting and planning work. You may add extra hours, up to ten hours total, for a discounted hourly rate of $50.
